Louisiana has become a popular travel destination due to its unique culture and fun loving atmosphere. The land for this state was purchased by the union in the 1800s along with most of the Midwest in and agreement called the Louisiana purchase. Today this state has become famous to many party animals for hosting one of the biggest parties in the entire country, Mardi Gras. This is a tradition originating in southern Europe and occurs on Fat Tuesday, the Tuesday before lent, a religious 40 days of thought prayer and sacrifice. The parties in New Orleans during this time are so legendary many people visit this part of the country only during this time of year, however there are many other fun and exciting travel options available in this southern state. Louisiana is known for its culture first and foremost being the only state with a large Cajun population, who are decedents of the Acadians who were driven out of Canada for not pledged allegiance to the king of England in the 1700s. This fun loving and unique culture comes through in every aspect of daily life in Louisiana which includes their music and food. Perhaps the most well known food from this region is “Jambalaya” which can be categorized as a Creole dish with both Spanish and French influences. Different styles of the dish will vary with region and many families keep their unique recipe a closely guarded secret; however the basic ingredients for the dish are normally the same and include meat, vegetables, and rice. With all Louisiana timeshares have to offer its time to plan a trip to the great south and experience the food, music, history, and culture while enjoying a relaxing vacation.
