Michigan is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Midwest, with the miles of shoreline, famous landmarks, parks, and forests it is easy to see why some many travelers are excited to visit this state on a regular basis. When viewing the unique shape of this state, travelers will notice the north and south parts of this state are connected only by the Mackinac Bridge spanning 12,826 feet, currently the third longest suspension bridge in the entire world. Michigan is virtually surrounded by water bodies known as the Great Lakes, the four Great Lakes which border this state are Lake Superior, Lake Erie, Lake Huron, and of course the lake named after the state Lake Michigan. In addition to being surrounded by the Great Lakes Michigan also has around 12,000 inland lakes, allowing the state to have the distinction of more miles of coast line than any other state except Alaska. Because there are so many miles of coast, Michigan also boasts the greatest number of light houses of any state, light house viewing has become a popular tourist adventure due to the imagery and mystique of these structures. College football fans will be familiar with the states most popular team the University of Michigan Wolverines. The Big House, as their stadium is known, is one of oldest and largest in all of college football and receives a measure of respect even from rival football fans. The stadium holds nearly 100,000 screaming football fans on any given Saturday when the team is playing at home, making this one of the top stadiums to visit for any college football lover. Staying in a Michigan timeshare allows for the perfect vacation experience and keeps families coming back year after year.
