The Old Sawmills is a large house in the hamlet of Barbrook just 1.5 miles from Lynton and Lynmouth, with the West Lyn river just beyond the holiday cottage's grounds. The house is perched on the side of a hill on a narrow no-through lane which ends after several miles in open moorland. The cottage was converted in 1840 and has many original features including beams and an inglenook fireplace. The enclosed garden, which is on various levels, is steep, wild and rambling.
